Partners of Austin raised over $12,000 with net proceeds
being donated to Anthropos www.anthropos.org
a nonprofit that provides music instruction and mentoring
to kids in Title IX schools, and KIPP Austin Prep www.kippaustinprep.org
a charter school for low-income kids in East Austin.
Guests enjoyed the hospitality of the legendary Antones
nightclub, with amazing performances by Will Taylor
and Strings Attached www.stringsattached.com
and an all-star lineup of guest vocalists doing selections
from the Beatles White Album and Sgt Pepper albums,
and then Day Tripper www.daytrippermusic.com
, Austin’s premier Beatles tribute band, packed
the dance floor with their extended set of Beatles hits.
Girlstart
10th Anniversary Party, Sept. 6, 2008 raises $58,000!
- Charity Partners of Austin helped Girlstart
www.girlstart.org
celebrate 10 years of providing mentoring and education
for Austin-area girls in math, science, engineering
and technology. The bash was held at the hip studios
of ME Television and included a live taping session
by an all-star lineup of Austin women artists including
Sara Hickman, Kacy Crowley, Seela, the James Sisters,
Samantha Miller and vocal group Small Voices. $40,000
was directly donated to Girlstart from ticket sales
and raffle.

Sunday, June 4, 2006, 7 pm: An old-school, rockin' Gospel
show at the Paramount Theatre, benefitting the Sickle
Cell Association of Austin, raised $20,000. More
